Finance Controller & Country Operations Lead – Tanzania

expansion, we are seeking a
finance leader to establish and manage our Tanzania operations.
Role Overview
We are looking for an entrepreneurial Finance Controller who can build and
lead our Tanzania business
from the ground up. This is not a traditional finance role. The successful
candidate will be responsible
for finance, banking, treasury, operations, exports, team building, and
overall business performance
while acting as the single point of accountability for Ahar Group in Tanzania.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and manage Ahar Group's Tanzania office and operations.
Recruit, lead, and develop local teams across finance, operations, and
administration.
Own overall P&L, budgeting, cash flow, and business performance.
Manage banking relationships, trade finance facilities, treasury, and forex
exposure.
Evaluate deal economics, profitability, and commercial risks.
Oversee procurement, warehousing, logistics, export execution, customs
clearance, and
shipping.
Implement strong financial controls, compliance, and reporting systems.
Build relationships with banks, regulators, service providers, suppliers,
and key stakeholders.
Provide timely MIS and performance reporting to Group HQ.
Qualifications
Chartered Accountant (ICAI), CPA, ACCA, or MBA Finance.
8–10 years of experience in finance, treasury, exports, commodities,
manufacturing, or trading
businesses.
Prior experience in Africa, preferably Tanzania
Strong understanding of trade finance, banking, forex, and business
operations.
Proven ability to build teams, establish processes, and operate
independently in a growth
environment.

Mobility Requirement
This is a hands-on leadership role. During procurement seasons, the incumbent
may be required to
spend extended periods (weeks or months) in sourcing regions such as Mtwara
and other procurement
hubs to oversee procurement, warehouse operations, inventory controls,
logistics, and operational
execution.
