Job Summary

Amara Raja Group is looking for a visionary and strategic Head of AI and Analytics to lead the organization's enterprise-wide data, analytics, and AI initiatives. This role will drive the design, development, and execution of data and machine learning strategies that align with business goals and supports transformation across manufacturing, sales, customer experience, and innovation. The ideal candidate will effectively collaborate with enterprise IT and OT partners to enable AI and analytics in solving business problems and enhance decision-making.

Key Activities

• AI & Analytics Strategy
  • Define and drive the enterprise AI and analytics roadmap in alignment with business goals.
  • Ensure the prioritization and value of implemented AI and analytics use cases is aligned and reached with business owners.
• Leadership
  • Build and lead a cross-functional team of data scientists, analysts, MLOps engineers, and data engineers.
  • Manage and review solution and implementation vendors to cater to use cases and ensure long term roadmap alignment exists.
• Business Enablement
  • Partner with functional heads to embed AI/ML into business processes across departments.
  • Present actionable insights to C suite stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.
• Innovation
  • Partner with IT, engineering, and automation teams to ensure the setup of rapid prototyping for emerging tech (Gen AI, vision, robotics).
  • Promote experimentation with cutting-edge AI technologies and ensure responsible AI practices.
• Governance
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Establish and maintain best practices for data management and security to comply with guidelines (ISO, GDPR, etc.).

Required skills

• Strategic Leadership
  • Demonstrated experience in defining and leading enterprise-wide AI/data initiatives.
  • Ability to align AI roadmaps with business KPIs and digital transformation goals.
• AI/ML Expertise
  • Deep understanding of ML algorithms and deployments at scale.
  • Multiple techniques across NLP, forecasting, optimization, etc., with ability to guide teams for use cases.
• Business Stakeholder Engagement
  • Proven communication and decisioning ability with C Suite.
  • Experience working across domains in an industrial context.

Good to have:

• Industry 4.0 Technologies
  • Understanding of Industry 4.0 principles and their applications, including digital twins, smart manufacturing, and connected systems.
• Gen AI
  • Exposure to working with LLMs, embeddings, vector DBs, etc.
  • Understanding of prompt engineering and multi-modal integration for agentic user experience.
• Data and ML Architecture Awareness
  • Knowledge of data lake houses and semantic data stores.
  • Experience with ML lifecycle tooling and AI governance frameworks.

Qualifications

Work Experience

• 10-12 years of experience in AI, data science or leadership roles, preferably in the manufacturing, energy, or related industries with exposure to Industry 4.0 technologies.

Educational Background

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.

Preferred Industry Experience

• Manufacturing, energy, or related high-tech industries with exposure to Industry 4.0.
