Role Overview:
The GIS Analyst / Geospatial Specialist evaluates geographic,
environmental, and infrastructure data to identify and optimize sites for
renewable energy generation (Solar, Wind, and BESS).
Key Responsibilities:
-
Site Suitability Modelling: Perform spatial analysis to find optimal
locations by evaluating factors such as solar irradiance, wind speed,
topography, and proximity to electrical grids.
-
Constraints Mapping: Map environmental exclusions and land use
restrictions (e.g., wetlands, protected habitats, zoning laws) to ensure
regulatory compliance.
-
Transmission Line Routing: Design and analyse optimal corridors for
power evacuation, interconnecting renewable plants to the existing power
grid.
-
Data Management & Visualization: Create interactive web maps, spatial
dashboards, and cartographic deliverables to support project managers
and stakeholders.
-
Remote Sensing: Utilize satellite imagery and LiDAR for land cover
analysis, terrain modelling, and vegetation management.
- To create a land use land cover classification scheme.
- To forecast the future pattern of land use / land cover.
- To map the current level of land use / land cover.
-
To identify the relationship between CBH & Dry Weight of the Any Shrubs
& Herbs.
- To find out the relationship between NDVI & Biomass.
- To find out Biomass equations for shrubs & herbs.
- Desktop study – Topo and Hydrology.
-
Identifying Constraints on Site lie wet land / forest / flood etc.
