Position Overview
The Deputy Manager – Civil shall be responsible for planning, execution,
monitoring, and coordination of all civil construction activities at the
project site. The role includes supervision of land development,
boundary works, internal roads, drainage systems, equipment foundations,
control room buildings, water systems, and other associated civil
infrastructure etc. The incumbent shall coordinate closely with EPC
contractors, internal stakeholders, consultants and ensuring compliance
with quality, safety, and project schedules. The role requires proactive
identification of construction risks and implementation of corrective
measures to avoid delays in project completion.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning, Execution & Site Readiness

Develop detailed daily, weekly, and monthly construction plans for all
civil activities.

Assess site readiness, resource deployment and construction
priorities.

Ensure timely mobilization of manpower by EPC and support any
required, machinery, construction materials and subcontractors.

Supervise execution of civil related activity but not limit to land
grading, site levelling, road construction, drainage systems, compound
walls, fencing, and building works.

Monitor construction progress against approved schedules and
milestones inline to the approved drawing.

Identify execution bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to
maintain project timelines.

Conduct daily progress review meetings with contractors and site
teams.

Maintain site records, work logs, DPRs, and construction reports.
-
Escalate project risks, delays, and resource constraints to management
with mitigation plans.
2. Civil Construction Management
-
Supervise construction of module mounting structure foundations,
inverter foundations, transformer foundations, control room buildings,
switchyard structures, water tanks, and associated infrastructure.

Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, BOQs, and
construction methodologies.

Monitor concrete works, reinforcement works, structural works,
masonry, and finishing activities.
- Verify contractor measurements and certify executed quantities.

Ensure proper deployment of construction equipment and resources.
3. Coordination with EPC Partners & Internal Teams
-
Coordinate with EPC contractors, consultants, and internal engineering
teams for smooth execution.

Liaise with design and engineering teams for technical clarifications
and drawing approvals.
-
Work closely with electrical teams to ensure seamless integration of
civil and electrical activities.
- Support commissioning teams in achieving project milestones.
4. Material Management & Quality Assurance
-
Monitor receipt, inspection, storage, and utilization of civil
construction materials.

Ensure quality control of cement, steel, aggregates, concrete,
structural components, and other materials.

Conduct quality inspections and ensure compliance with approved QA/QC
procedures.
- Review test reports and maintain quality records.
- Raise and close NCRs in coordination with QA/QC teams.
5. Stakeholder Management
-
Coordinate with local authorities if required, landowners,
consultants, and government agencies as required.

Support statutory inspections, approvals, and compliance activities.

Maintain positive stakeholder relationships to facilitate smooth
project execution.

Assist in resolving land-related and local community issues impacting
construction activities.
6. Project Close - Out & Handover
-
Ensure completion of all civil punch points before project handover.
- Prepare as-built documentation and final measurement records.
- Support project commissioning activities and final inspections.
- Coordinate handover of civil infrastructure to the O&M team.
- Ensure closure of all contractor obligations and documentation.
Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of civil construction management and project
execution.

Expertise in foundations, RCC structures, buildings, roads, drainage,
and site development works.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, BOQs, and
contracts.
- Strong contractor and subcontractor management skills.
-
Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and construction quality standards.
- Understanding of HSE requirements and statutory compliance.
- Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.

Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, project monitoring tools, and
reporting systems.

Experience in utility-scale solar, infrastructure, industrial, or EPC
projects preferred.
