Role Overview
AXA is looking for an experienced
Software License Manager
to manage the end-to-end Software Asset Management (SAM) lifecycle for
global operations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in
enterprise software licensing, particularly
SAP licensing
, and experience working with Tier-1 software vendors. This is a global
stakeholder-facing role requiring excellent communication, commercial
understanding, and the ability to independently manage software licensing
compliance, optimization, and vendor engagement.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the complete Software Asset Management (SAM) lifecycle across
enterprise applications.

Administer and optimize software licenses, with a strong focus on
SAP licensing
.

Ensure software license compliance and minimize licensing risks during
internal and external audits.

Work closely with Tier-1 software vendors such as SAP, Microsoft,
Oracle, IBM, Adobe, and other enterprise software providers.

Track software usage, entitlement, renewals, and maintenance contracts.

Identify opportunities for license optimization and cost savings.

Collaborate with Procurement, IT, Finance, Legal, and business teams on
software acquisition and renewals.

Prepare licensing reports, compliance dashboards, and executive updates
for senior stakeholders.

Support contract negotiations and licensing strategy discussions.

Maintain accurate software inventory, entitlement records, and asset
repositories.

Drive process improvements and governance for Software Asset Management.
Mandatory Skills
-
7+ years of experience in
Software Asset Management (SAM)
or Software License Management.

Strong hands-on experience managing
SAP licenses
.

Experience handling the
end-to-end software licensing lifecycle
.

Experience working directly with Tier-1 software vendors (SAP,
Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Adobe, etc.).

Strong understanding of software licensing models, compliance, audits,
and optimization.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Ability to work with global business and technology teams.
Preferred Skills

Experience with Software Asset Management tools such as Flexera,
ServiceNow SAM Pro, Snow Software, or equivalent.

Knowledge of IT Asset Management (ITAM) processes.

Experience supporting global licensing operations.
-
ITIL or SAM-related certifications would be an advantage.
