Hybrid Working
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the
positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations,
together with working from home. We have a structured approach to hybrid
working meaning that colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed,
‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of three days a week or more, as
set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time
hours).
When the candidate joins the team, for initial three months, the candidate
should be working from onsite location everyday and after 3 months,
continue with the hybrid working model.
About Barclays International India Centre
The BIIC is a team located in Mumbai where it supports several Investment
Banking, Prime Brokerage and Financing activities. The team works very
closely with its global counterparts situated in the US, Europe and Asia
and helps them build business critical solutions for analytical purposes.
About Mumbai Credit Trading Team
The Mumbai Credit Trading team works closely with the US & European
Credit trading teams and provide valuable analytics to the trading and
sales as well as senior management including relative valuation analysis,
trading analytics, risk analytics and business critical reports. The team
also builds and maintains tools that help find trading opportunities and
recommend trade ideas, analyse companies, track news and perform ad hoc
customized analysis.
Overall purpose of role
The candidate will be part of the EU/US Systematic Credit Team working for
the EU/US IG desk. The Systematic Credit desk trades Investment Grade
Bonds and Portfolios in the region-specific market.
Key Accountabilities
o
Provide Analytical support to the Systematic Credit Trading desks which
includes either US or UK
o
Help maintain Algo quoting while improving efficiency in terms of speed
and hit rates
o
Work on front facing Dashboards to display intraday screeners to traders
o
Help the desk create and maintain BAU analytics around Client Volumes,
RFQs, market share
o
Provide Relative Valuation analytical support to the desks which includes
trade ideas
o
Provide portfolio pricing support & analytics to the desk
o
Demonstrate product knowledge of Bonds and ETF and develop desk reports
o
Work closely with several cross-functional teams across the globe to
execute desk projects
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
o
This is a position which requires the candidate to work closely with the
Trading & Sales desks in EU/US
o
The candidate is also expected to work with other trading teams in New
York, London & Asia.
Decision-making and Problem Solving
o
The candidate will need to be highly proactive in identifying issues and
getting them resolved by liaising with various stakeholders
o
The candidate will need to work on several time-sensitive activities and
is therefore required to be meticulous and efficient
o
The candidate should have an excellent eye for detail and should ensure
that he/she meets a zero-error tolerance requirement as most output forms
a critical input for business decision making
Risk and Control Objective
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance
with regulatory requirements, Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework
and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
Person Specification
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
o
Experience of quantitative analysis of market data and strong analytical
skills
o
Experience of Python
o
Excellent communication skills (oral/written)
Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:
o
CFA / FRM preferred
o
Any certifications in Finance or Economics preferred
o
Good understanding of financial markets with focus on fixed income.
o
Knowledge of sql/kdb preferred
o
Knowledge of Excel, VBA preferred
o
Aptitude for self-learning – Should be able to demonstrate a self-starting
attitude
o
Flexible to work long hours (when required), meet deadlines and be
proactive
o
Ability to prioritize and manage large projects and take full ownership of
assigned tasks.
