Job Summary:
We are seeking a Process Engineer (Chemical Engineer) with experience in the
water sector to join the Water Team. This position will be based out of
Chennai office.
The Water Process Engineer will develop design criteria, PFDs, P&IDs, ion balances, hydraulic profiles, heat and mass balances and process calculations with minimal supervision. The Process Engineer will interact and participate in meetings regularly with other offices, mainly Houston, Santiago and London.
Education and Experience Requirements:
A recognized degree in Chemical/ Mechanical Engineering from an accredited
college or university.
Minimum 5 - 15 years of experience
Major Responsibilities:
• Developing design criteria, PFDs, P&IDs, mass balances and
process calculations for water systems with minimal supervision.
• Coordinating engineering efforts in assigned areas between
specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client,
suppliers, and contractors and between other groups.
• When delegated, assuming a lead technical role over other
engineers for completing specific tasks.
• Preparing or assisting in preparation of conceptual studies,
designs, reports or proposals.
• Providing input to cost estimates, quantity take-offs and
staffing requirements for proposals, forecasts and change orders.
• Reviewing and checking work of other engineers.

• English level: Fluent.
The Process Engineer should have knowledge and/or experience in:
Water and Wastewater Treatment Technologies and Equipment, Desalination, Water
Chemistry.
Process engineering design.
Site experience will be advantageous.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
• Process Engineers are expected to be able to develop design
criteria, PFDs, P&IDs, mass balances, process calculations and functional
descriptions.
• They should be able to produce a well-structured report that
logically assess various options and then put forward a recommendation.
• Knowledge of current computer applications for engineering and
design.
• Basic understanding of the roles played by other departments on
projects.
• Basic understanding of industry or regulatory codes and
standards and design criteria pertinent to the particular engineering
discipline.
• Oral and written communication skills.
