Finance Controller

Looking for an experienced and highly motivated Finance Controller to oversee all financial operations of the company. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, cost control, cash flow management, statutory compliance, taxation, inventory valuation, and strategic financial planning. The Finance Controller will work closely with senior management to support operational efficiency and business growth while ensuring the highest standards of financial governance.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

• Manage all accounting and financial activities of the company.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and banking operations.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Prepare annual operating budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor departmental budgets and analyse variances.
• Recommend corrective actions to improve financial performance.
• Support management in long-term financial planning.

Cost Control & Manufacturing Finance

• Monitor manufacturing costs and product costing.
• Analyse production costs, material consumption, labour costs, and overhead allocation.
• Review inventory valuation and stock reconciliation.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiencies.

Cash Flow & Treasury

• Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts.
• Monitor working capital requirements.
• Manage banking relationships and financing arrangements.
• Ensure sufficient liquidity for daily operations.

Taxation & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Zambian tax laws and statutory requirements.
• Prepare and review VAT, PAYE, Corporate Income Tax, Withholding Tax, and other statutory filings.
• Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.

Financial Analysis

• Prepare management reports and key financial dashboards.
• Analyse profitability, margins, and operational performance.
• Provide recommendations to improve financial efficiency.
• Present financial reports to senior management.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS.
• Understanding of manufacturing accounting and cost accounting.
• Budgeting and financial modelling.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with TALLY ERP/accounting software.
