Eternis Fine Chemicals Limited (Eternis) was born of a dream in 1988 with a visionary goal to become a global leader in aroma chemicals. In just a few decades, we have become one of the top 10 aroma chemical manufacturers worldwide. Today, we are the largest exporter of aroma chemicals in India, with exports contributing to 80% of total sales.
As a leading manufacturer of specialty chemicals catering to international market, Eternis is led by Mr. Rajen Mariwala, a member of the Marico promoter family. Under his leadership, Eternis has grown exponentially – scaling revenues of INR 20 Crores to over INR 2000 Crores – and now serves all major global flavors and fragrance companies.
Eternis has continuously expanded its product portfolio over the years, delivering innovative and cutting-edge solutions that drive success for its global customers. At the core of its journey is a commitment to Innovation, Quality and Sustainability, which continues to shape its reputation as a trusted partner in the aroma chemicals industry.
The legacy of the Mariwala family began in the early 1900s when Shri Kanji Morarji founded a pepper trading business, earning the family the affectionate moniker of Mariwala meaning “pepper sellers”.
This entrepreneurial spirit laid the foundation for future ventures, and by 1940, the “Bombay Oil Industries” was formed, marking a significant milestone in their industrial journey. A decade later, the company ventured into coconut oil manufacturing, setting up a factory in Mumbai. This was the birth of one of India’s most iconic brands - Parachute, a name synonymous with quality and trust.
The 1960s saw successful diversification into oleo chemicals and spice oleoresins expanding the family’s footprint in the chemical and food ingredients sector. The 1990s marked a transformative phase in the establishment of Marico Ltd. – a name that has grown as one of the most successful consumer goods brands in India. Around the same time, the foundation for Eternis was laid under the name Hindustan Polyamides & Fibers Limited, setting the stage for its emergence as a leader in aroma chemicals.
Eternis Fine Chemicals Limited is a global leader in Aroma & Personal Care with a bold ambition to reach a turnover of USD 500 million. With a strong foundation on organic growth through product enhancement and diversification, Eternis has also strategically expanded its portfolio through key acquisitions, reinforcing its position worldwide.
