Role Overview We are looking for a highly skilled Solution Architect to lead the design and implementation of RCU’s future-state data architecture on Snowflake deployed on Microsoft Azure. The architect will be responsible for defining scalable, secure, and compliant data solutions while enabling advanced analytics, real-time data processing, and AI/ML adoption. The role requires strong collaboration with client SMEs, engineering teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment with the overall data strategy and architectural roadmap. Key Responsibilities 1. Architecture & Design ● Define the end-to-end architecture for Snowflake on Azure, including landing zones, resource hierarchy, and platform standards. ● Design data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration workflows using Azure Data Factory, Event Hub, and Fabric Data Factory. ● Develop scalable pipelines aligned to the Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold). ● Ensure best practices in performance optimization, storage design, and cost efficiency. 2. Governance, Security & Compliance ● Embed security-by-design principles across all layers: RBAC/ABAC, encryption, data masking, and secure connectivity. ● Define governance frameworks covering metadata, lineage, access control, versioning, and compliance requirements. ● Ensure adherence to enterprise and regulatory standards for data security and privacy. 3. Integration & Advanced Analytics Enablement ● Lead architectural integration with BI tools, APIs, Data Science platforms, and downstream consumer systems. ● Ensure the platform supports real-time ingestion, metadata-driven automation, and readiness for AI/ML workloads. ● Drive adoption of best practices for analytics acceleration and modern data engineering approaches. 4. Collaboration & Leadership ● Work with client SMEs and engineering teams to validate architecture decisions and roadmap alignment. ● Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, ensuring high-quality delivery. ● Conduct design reviews, provide solution recommendations, and support architectural governance processes. Required Skills & Experience ● Strong expertise in Snowflake architecture, Azure Data Platform, and cloud-native data engineering. ● Hands-on experience with ADF, Event Hub, Azure Fabric, and related Azure services. ● Deep understanding of data security frameworks, RBAC/ABAC, encryption techniques, and compliance controls. ● Expertise in designing large-scale, real-time and batch data pipelines. ● Knowledge of Medallion Architecture and metadata-driven frameworks. ● Strong communication, solutioning, and client-facing consulting experience. Preferred Qualifications ● Certifications in Snowflake, Azure Architect, or related technologies. ● Experience working in consulting or enterprise architecture roles. ● Exposure to DataOps, CI/CD, or automation frameworks.
