Job Summary:

The Manager - Tax plays a crucial role in aligning with the Insurance Finance Operation vertical to analyze operational data and strategize financial outcomes. This position is pivotal in managing the end-to-end tax vertical for the Insurance line of business while ensuring compliance, stakeholder management, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all tax-related activities for the Insurance LOB, covering direct tax, GST, transfer pricing, and international tax matters.
  • Ensure accurate and timely tax filings, assessments, and audits in compliance with Indian regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and execute robust tax strategies aimed at optimizing the effective tax rate and ensuring business sustainability.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate implications to management, and devise strategies to leverage changes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, legal, compliance, business operations) to provide tax guidance on new products and business expansions.
  • Oversee tax audits and investigations, acting as a liaison with tax authorities and external advisors.
  • Provide insights for financial planning, forecasting, and reporting cycles while building a high-performing tax team.

Requirements:

  • MBA from a renowned university with 10+ years of experience in the insurance domain and BPO.
  • 5+ years of experience in people management, demonstrating effective leadership capabilities.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, both effective and diplomatic.
  • Strong time management, organization skills, and a self-disciplined, result-oriented approach.
  • Proficient in multitasking with a commitment and drive for results.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and challenge established process guidelines for improvements.
  • Adept at finding solutions, especially in addressing client queries and issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, and post-merger integrations from a tax perspective.
  • Proven success in managing external tax relationships and audits.
  • Expertise in preparing corporate tax provisions and VAT Technical Files.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a focus on strategic initiatives.
