Job Description

Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable (AR) Collections professional with strong expertise in Cash Application, Collections, Bank Reconciliations, and Team Management. This role is pivotal in managing end-to-end AR processes, ensuring timely cash posting, and resolving customer queries related to outstanding receivables while driving process excellence and meeting SLA and quality targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end AR Collections activities and ensure timely recovery of outstanding receivables.
  • Perform customer follow-ups through emails and calls to resolve overdue invoices and payment disputes.
  • Monitor aging reports and proactively drive collection efforts to improve DSO and cash flow.
  • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, short payments, deductions, and unapplied cash.
  • Ensure timely and accurate cash application in AR systems.
  • Review and reconcile customer payments, bank receipts, and unidentified cash transactions.
  • Lead and mentor team members, ensuring productivity and adherence to quality standards.

Requirements:

  • 3–8 years of experience in Finance & Accounting with strong exposure to Accounts Receivable (AR) Collections.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of hands-on experience in AR Collections and Cash Applications.
  • Strong understanding of General Ledger and Accounts Receivable processes.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret business documents and financial data.
  • Experience working on AR Legacy Systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with process excellence methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to Insurance industry processes (US market preferred).
  • Experience leading teams in a shared services/BPO environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and leadership teams to resolve issues.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and excellence initiatives.
