Electrical Design Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with 7+ years of expertise in electrical system design for Oil & Gas, Metal & Mining , Power Plants,  projects. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, relevant codes and standards, and experience in preparing detailed engineering deliverables while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop LV/MV electrical systems for industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
• Prepare single-line diagrams (SLD), load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, and short-circuit studies.
• Develop electrical layouts, lighting layouts, earthing and lightning protection systems.
• Prepare technical specifications, BOQs, datasheets, and material requisitions.
• Review vendor drawings and ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.
• Coordinate with mechanical, civil, instrumentation, and process engineering teams.
• Support procurement, installation, commissioning, and site engineering activities.
• Ensure designs comply with IEC, IS, NEC, IEEE, and other relevant international standards.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOP meetings, and client discussions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech).
• 7+ years of experience in electrical design engineering.
• Experience in EPC, consulting engineering, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Strong understanding of power distribution systems and electrical design calculations.

Technical Skills

• Experience with ETAP , Dialux, SPEL., any one
• Familiarity with electrical protection schemes and relay coordination.
• Knowledge of transformer, DG, UPS, PCC, MCC, VFD, and switchgear selection.
• Experience with cable tray routing and electrical layouts.
• Good understanding of IEC, IEEE, IS, NEC, and other applicable standards.
