Undertake structural analysis and design of water-retaining and infrastructure-related
projects. Experience in water-retaining structures, treatment plants, pumping stations, or
multidisciplinary infrastructure projects will be preferred.
+ Design of reinforced concrete and steel structures (tank/reservoirs, chambers, pumping
stations, foundations, slabs, walls, culverts and retaining walls)
+ Perform structural calculations for dead, live, hydrostatic, soil, surcharge, wind, seismic,
uplift, and equipment loads, foundation and earth-retaining design as applicable.
Assess crack-width control, durability, water-tightness, deflection, stability, flotation, and
serviceability requirements.
«Develop structural design criteria, calculation packages, reinforcement details, and
technical specifications.
‘= Review geotechnical information and requirements.
‘+ Experience in structural drawings, reinforcement schedules, quantity take-offs, and bills of
‘quantities.
+ Coordinate structural interfaces with civil, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, architectural,
‘and process teams.
'* Experience with STAD Pro, AutoCAD, Mathcad, and vast knowledge of Excel
spreadsheets is required. SAP 2000 knowledge will be an advantage
‘* American / Canadian/ South African relevant standards’ knowledge will be an advantage.
