Role:
Structural Designer – SP3D (3–15 Years Experience)
Roles & Responsibilities

Develop 3D structural models using
SmartPlant 3D (SP3D/S3D)
for oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, LNG, or industrial
projects.

Prepare
GA drawings, fabrication drawings, erection drawings, and detailed
structural drawings
for steel and RCC structures.
-
Model structural steel components such as
pipe racks, platforms, buildings, equipment supports, stairways, ladders,
handrails, cable trays, and foundations
.
-
Generate
2D drawings
from SP3D models using SmartSketch, AutoCAD, or MicroStation.
-
Review engineering sketches, design calculations, and specifications to
prepare accurate design deliverables.
-
Perform
clash detection, model review, and interdisciplinary coordination
with piping, mechanical, civil, electrical, and instrumentation teams.

Prepare
Material Take-Off (MTO/BOM)
and support procurement activities.

Ensure compliance with project specifications, client standards, and
international codes such as
AISC, API, IS, ISO, DNV, and BS
.

Support fabrication, construction, and site engineering by resolving design
queries and updating drawings.

Maintain drawing quality, revision control, QA/QC requirements, and project
schedules.

Guide junior designers and participate in design reviews for projects with
higher experience levels (8–15 years).
Required Skills

Hands-on experience in
SP3D/S3D
.

Strong knowledge of structural steel detailing, RCC detailing, and
industrial structures.

Good understanding of fabrication practices, construction methods, and
engineering standards.

Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
