The Piping Stress Engineer is responsible for performing detailed pipe stress
analysis to
ensure piping systems meet flexibility, safety, code compliance, and
reliability
requirements. The role involves working closely with piping layout,
mechanical, process,
civil/structural, and construction teams to deliver technically sound
engineering solutions.
The Piping Stress Engineer also ensures timely completion of deliverables
within project
schedule and cost constraints.
Key Responsibilities
Piping Stress–Specific Responsibilities
Develop and maintain project pipe stress specification and related technical
documentation.
Perform detailed pipe stress analysis using tools such as CAESAR II /
AutoPIPE.
Identify and evaluate loads on equipment nozzles, supports, flanges, relief
valves/lines
and any other critical components.
Review and define piping support requirements including spring hangers,
shock
absorbers, and special supports.
Prepare calculations including calculations for pressure, pipe wall
thickness, branch
reinforcement, pipe supports and attachments to meet code requirements.
Apply through whichever channel suits you best.
