About us
House of Biryan (Prosperous Brands Pvt Ltd) is a fast-growing, delivery-first
biryani brand around 30 cloud kitchens across India and 6 in Dubai,
selling through Zomato, Swiggy and the Gulf aggregators. The business runs on
OPX, our in-house operations platform: attendance, rosters, inventory and
stock, store maintenance, complaints, assets, HRM and a live command centre
integrated with Rista POS, delivery-platform data and in-store IoT
telemetry.
OPX is entering a major modernize-and-scale phase as the brand expands across
geographies. We are hiring its founding full-time engineering team a small
crew of 2–3 engineers who will run, build and scale the platform end-to-end.
You will ramp up through a structured hand-over with real tasks alongside the
current engineering transition team, and then own the platform outright.
The role
You own the ground OPX stands on: a small self-hosted cloud estate
(DigitalOcean) running a revenue-critical platform for a 24×7 restaurant
business web/app servers, MariaDB, an IoT telemetry pipeline, nightly off-site
backups and a young monitoring layer. Your job: make it boringly reliable,
then make it scale.
You will
•
Own the infrastructure end-to-end: provisioning, cloud firewalls, TLS and
virtual hosts, capacity planning (disk, memory, worker pools), cost awareness,
snapshots and rollback discipline.
•
Replace legacy FTP deployments with git-based CI/CD staging to production with
rollbacks and per-user accountability and keep it healthy.
•
Run backup and disaster recovery properly: automated nightly database dumps,
off-site retention, and scheduled restore drills a backup that has never been
restored does not exist.
•
Build out observability: uptime and data-freshness alerting, log rotation and
review, response-time logging and dashboards; operate and extend our
Python-based alerting service.
•
Lead incident response: triage peak-hour degradations (worker exhaustion, slow
endpoints, disk pressure), write the runbook afterwards, and drive recurrences
to zero.
•
Partner with the platform lead on the scale roadmap: managed database split,
real production/staging separation, object storage and CDN for media, patch
and reboot cadence.
Must have
•
3+ years operating production Linux: systemd, networking, firewalls, and
web/app servers (Apache or Nginx, PHP-FPM or an equivalent application
runtime).
•
A cloud provider in production (DigitalOcean, AWS or GCP): compute, firewalls,
object storage, DNS.
•
Built or owned a CI/CD pipeline with rollback for a live product.
•
Backup and restore experience you can walk through concretely tooling,
retention, and an actual restore you ran.
•
Monitoring and alerting you set up yourself (any stack), plus scripting
fluency in Python and Bash.
•
MySQL/MariaDB operations basics: dumps and restores, slow-query logs, disk and
space behaviour.
Nice to have
•
Infrastructure-as-code; MQTT/IoT plumbing; container experience (we are
pre-container you would shape that transition).
•
Security-hardening habits; small-company on-call experience.
Apply through whichever channel suits you best.
