Job Summary:

As a Chef De Cuisine at Hunger Inc Hospitality, you will be an ambassador for the exceptional service and cuisine that define our award-winning dining experiences. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will play a vital role in elevating our flagship restaurant, The Bombay Canteen, and our new ventures, O Pedro and Bombay Sweet Shop, by crafting innovative menus that celebrate India's rich culinary heritage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and design new menus, including creative plating presentations for each dish in collaboration with the Executive Chef.
  • Be adaptable to manage and conquer any station within the kitchen as needed.
  • Train, schedule, evaluate, counsel, motivate, and coach new kitchen staff to foster a productive team environment.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene and safety guidelines, as well as fire and health safety policies.
  • Oversee the entire kitchen operation in coordination with the Sous Chef, ensuring food safety, creativity, staff management, and guest interactions.
  • Assist Chef de Partie in checking food requisitions and making necessary adjustments to maintain quality and consistency.
  • Organize an efficient flow of kitchen operations by coordinating daily events and delegating tasks effectively.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of previous kitchen experience in a high-volume restaurant or hotel environment is essential.
  • Formal culinary qualification from an accredited culinary school is required.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems are necessary.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with a focus on teamwork.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, with a dependable and responsible work ethic.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and remaining calm and courteous at all times.

  • Experience with menu development that emphasizes local and seasonal ingredients.
