Senior Designer

Job Description

HUNGER INC.

SENIOR VISUAL DESIGNER

THE ROLE

At Hunger Inc., we believe good design is as essential as great food. We're looking for a Senior Visual Designer to bring craft, consistency, and sharp visual thinking to our brands - The Bombay Canteen, O Pedro, Veronica's, Bombay Sweet Shop, and Papa's. This role sits at the heart of how our brands look and feel across every format - packaging, campaigns, in-store experiences, visual merchandising and events, and digital content. You'll take ideas from rough concept to polished, production-ready execution, and be a steady hand on craft for the whole design team.

As Hunger Inc. looks to expand into new cities and formats, you'll also play a part in helping our brands grow - building visual systems and assets that travel well and hold up as we scale. You'll report to the Design Lead, and through them to the Head of Design, and work closely with marketing, product, and operations to bring our visual world to life - thoughtfully, consistently, and with real attention to detail.

WHO WE ARE

Hunger Inc. is home to The Bombay Canteen, O Pedro, Bombay Sweet Shop, Veronica's, Papa's. We craft unforgettable food and beverage experiences that celebrate creativity, culture, and community. While our guests experience this on the plate and in our spaces, it's our creative team that ensures every visual detail - from the smallest label to a full-blown campaign - tells our story in a way that's unmistakably us.

WHO YOU ARE

You're a designer who cares as much about kerning and colour harmony as you do about the big idea. You move comfortably between brand systems, packaging, and campaign work, and you know how to hold a high bar on craft even when the timeline is tight.

You've worked across formats before and you're confident owning a brief end-to-end - from concept to final, print-ready or pixel-perfect file. You're equally happy refining an existing brand system as you are bringing fresh energy to a new one.

YOUR TEAM

You'll be a core part of the design team, working closely with the Design Lead, Head of Design, copywriters, marketers, and other designers across brands. You'll also guide and review work from junior designers and freelancers, helping raise the craft bar across the board. This is a hands-on, collaborative role that sits close to the work - from festive campaigns to everyday packaging and in-store visuals.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Visual Craft: Owning layout, typography, and design quality across every format - from packaging to campaigns to digital.
  • Packaging & Print: Designing packaging, labels, menus, and collateral with both beauty and function in mind.
  • Campaign Design: Bringing visual concepts to life across launches, seasonal moments, and brand campaigns.
  • Digital Design: Creating social media assets, performance creatives, and digital content that's sharp and on-brand.
  • VM & Events: Designing visual merchandising and event experiences, from concept through to setup on ground.
  • Brand Expansion: Helping build visual systems and assets that support our brands as they grow into new cities and formats.
  • Motion (Bonus): Supporting motion and kinetic typography work for digital and in-venue screens where needed.
  • Team Guidance: Reviewing and mentoring junior designers and freelancers, helping them level up and stay aligned.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with marketing, operations, and the Head of Design to keep every visual rooted in clear storytelling.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Strong Craft: You notice the small things - alignment, kerning, colour, spacing - and you don't let them slide.
  • Experience: 5 - 7 years of visual or graphic design experience (in-house or agency), with a portfolio that shows range and rigour.
  • Tech-Savvy: Strong command of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. Bonus points for After Effects, motion graphics, or kinetic typography.
  • Versatile: Comfortable moving between packaging, digital, and physical formats - including VM and event setups on ground.
  • Systems Thinking: Comfortable working within established brand systems, and sharp enough to know when to push past them.
  • Organised: You can juggle multiple projects across brands and still deliver on time, without dropping quality.
  • Collaborative: Open to feedback, easy to work with, and good at guiding others without micromanaging.

WHAT YOU'LL GET

  • A Craft-First Role: You'll set the visual bar for some of India's most-loved food brands.
  • Room to Grow: We love promoting from within and giving team members the space to lead.
  • A Front Seat on Expansion: As Hunger Inc. grows into new cities and formats, you'll help shape what our brands look like as they scale.
  • A Fun, Thoughtful Team: You'll work with people who care deeply about quality, craft, and culture.
  • Meaningful Work: Your designs won't sit in a folder - they'll be out in the world, sparking delight and bringing people joy.
  • Perks: Discounts at HI restaurants and cafes.
