Trade Counsellor

Job Summary:

The Trade Counsellor plays a pivotal role in enhancing the organization's international trade initiatives and relationships. This position focuses on providing expert guidance to clients on trade regulations, market entry strategies, and export/import processes, ultimately contributing to the growth and success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise clients on international trade regulations, customs compliance, and best practices for cross-border transactions.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify new opportunities for export and import activities.
• Facilitate workshops and seminars to educate stakeholders on trade policies and market trends.
• Collaborate with governmental and industry organizations to advocate for favorable trade policies.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with business partners and clients to enhance trade collaboration.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations on trade performance and opportunities for senior management.
• Monitor changes in trade legislation and assess their impact on clients and the organization.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Business, or a related field.
• Proven experience in trade consultancy, export/import operations, or a relevant field.
• Strong understanding of international trade regulations and compliance standards.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in negotiation techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships across diverse sectors.
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools for trade analysis and project management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in International Business or a related field.
• Fluency in multiple languages, particularly in major trade languages such as Mandarin, Spanish, or French.
• Experience working with governmental trade agencies or non-governmental organizations.
• Professional certifications in trade or export compliance (e.g., CTCS, ECS).
• Strong network within the international trade community and related organizations.
