1. What are your roles and responsibilities?
New Business & Underwriting Support Processing
-
Verify completeness and accuracy of proposal forms and supporting
documents.

Support medical and financial underwriting assessments as per approved
underwriting guidelines (Retail & Group)
-
Analyse customer information, medical reports, and financial
documents.

Maintain underwriting records and case documentation accurately.
-
Coordinate with sales, operations, and branch teams for pending
requirements and document collection.

Assist in policy issuance processing within defined service timelines.
- Conducting UAT’s for New Product Launches & Enhancements
Service & Quality Management
-
Ensure adherence to defined Turnaround Time (TAT) and quality
benchmarks.

Follow compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements during case
processing.

Resolve underwriting - related queries from stakeholders within agreed
timelines.
- Contribute towards continuous process improvement initiatives.
Reporting & MIS
- Maintain daily productivity and underwriting reports.
- Prepare and update MIS reports and case trackers.

Support data analysis and reporting requirements of the underwriting
team.
Cross - Functional Coordination
-
Liaise with Operations, Compliance, Sales, IT, and Customer Service
teams for smooth policy processing.
- Participate in team discussions and process reviews.
2. What are the role’s deliverables/goals?
To support the New Business and Underwriting team in evaluating
insurance applications, processing policy issuance requests, maintaining
underwriting records, and ensuring adherence to company underwriting
guidelines, service standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Performance Indicators
Qualitative:
- Interdepartmental (HO) and Branch Coordination
- Team Management
- Adherence to defined TATs.
- Accuracy of underwriting and policy issuance processing.
- Productivity as per team targets.
- Timely completion of MIS and reporting activities.
Quantitative:
- Quality of case assessment and documentation.
- Stakeholder satisfaction and query resolution.
- Compliance with underwriting guidelines and company policies.
- Effective coordination with internal departments.
