Job Description– Draftsman (AutoCAD & Solid Works)

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Draftsman with hands-on experience in AutoCAD and Solid Works to create accurate technical drawings, 2D layouts, and 3D models for engineering and manufacturing projects. The ideal candidate should have strong drafting skills, knowledge of engineering standards, and the ability to work closely with design and production teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D drawings and technical documentation using AutoCAD.
• Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using Solid Works.
• Develop fabrication, assembly, and shop drawings as per project requirements.
• Interpret engineering designs, specifications, and calculations.
• Ensure drawings comply with industry standards, company procedures, and customer requirements.
• Maintain drawing revisions and document control records.
• Coordinate with engineers, production teams, and project managers for design updates and modifications.
• Generate Bill of Materials (BOM) and support manufacturing documentation.
• Conduct drawing checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality.
• Assist in product development, design improvements, and process optimization.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering, Draftsmanship, or related technical field.
• 4–6 years of experience in drafting and design engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Solid Works.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and drafting standards.
• Knowledge of fabrication, machining, sheet metal, or manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and engineering documents.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with sheet metal design and weldment structures.
• Knowledge of BOM preparation and ERP systems.
• Familiarity with ISO standards and manufacturing documentation.
• Basic understanding of stress analysis and design calculations.
• Experience in industrial equipment, machinery, or fabrication projects.
