Role Overview
The ServiceNow Engineer will be responsible for implementing, testing,
debugging, documenting, deploying, and enhancing business workflows within the
ServiceNow ecosystem. Working closely with the Technical Architect, this role
focuses on translating architectural designs into robust, scalable solutions.
The engineer will also bring prior experience in application development
across other domains or languages, ensuring versatility and strong
problem-solving capabilities.
Key Responsibilities

Implementation & Development
- Build and configure ServiceNow applications, modules, and workflows based on architectural designs.
- Develop custom scripts, UI policies, business rules, and client/server-side logic.
- Implement integrations with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, and Orchestration.
- End-to-End application development in any popular tech stack is a plus.
- Understanding of various Business process patterns is desired.

Testing & Debugging
- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and UAT support for ServiceNow workflows.
- Debug and resolve issues in ServiceNow applications and integrations.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.

Documentation & Deployment
- Document technical designs, workflows, and integration patterns.
- Support deployment activities, including version control and release management.
- Maintain configuration management and adherence to coding standards.

Enhancements & Continuous Improvement
- Enhance existing workflows and modules to meet evolving business needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities.
- Contribute to innovation initiatives, including AI-driven enhancements within ServiceNow.
Required Experience & Qualifications

Experience
- 4–7 years of IT experience, with at least 3+ years in ServiceNow development and workflow implementation.
- Prior experience in application development using languages such as Java, .NET, Python, or JavaScript.
- Exposure to enterprise-scale application environments and integrations.

Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on expertise in ServiceNow modules: ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM.
- Proficiency in ServiceNow Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and Scoped Applications.
- Solid scripting skills in JavaScript, Glide API, and ServiceNow-specific scripting frameworks.
- Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, and third-party system integrations.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, AngularJS, or React for UI customization.
- Knowledge of cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and SaaS integration patterns.
- Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.

Certifications (Preferred)
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in ITSM/ITOM/HRSD/CSM.
- ITIL v4 Foundation Certification.
