Job Description: Regional Head – Secured Collections (B3+)

Job Summary
The Regional Head – Secured Collections is responsible for leading the
end-to-end collections strategy and operations for the secured loan portfolio
across the assigned region. The role focuses on maximizing recoveries,
minimizing delinquency and credit losses, ensuring regulatory compliance,
managing legal recovery processes, and leading high-performing collections
teams while delivering a superior customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Management
Drive collections performance across secured loan products such as Home Loans,
Loan Against Property (LAP), and Mortgage-backed loans.
Monitor delinquency buckets (30+, 60+, 90+, NPA) and implement strategies to
improve collection efficiency.
Develop region-specific action plans to reduce roll rates and optimize
recoveries.
Ensure achievement of collection efficiency, resolution, and recovery targets.
Collections Strategy
Formulate and execute collection strategies across early, soft, hard, and
legal collections.
Improve recovery through analytics-driven segmentation and prioritization.
Introduce process improvements and digital collection initiatives to enhance
productivity.
Drive preventive collections to minimize future delinquency.
Team Leadership
Lead Regional Collection Managers, Area Managers, Cluster Managers, and field
collection teams.
Establish performance goals and conduct regular reviews.
Coach and mentor team members to build a high-performance culture.
Optimize manpower utilization and succession planning.
Agency & Vendor Management
Appoint, monitor, and evaluate collection agencies and legal recovery
partners.
Ensure agencies comply with regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
Negotiate commercial terms and improve vendor productivity.
Conduct periodic audits of agency performance.
Legal & Recovery Management
Oversee legal recovery actions under applicable banking and recovery laws.
Coordinate with legal teams on repossession, enforcement, settlements, and
litigation.
Monitor recovery from written-off accounts.
Ensure timely execution of recovery proceedings.
Risk & Compliance
Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines issued by the relevant banking
regulator and internal policies.
Monitor customer complaint trends and ensure ethical collection practices.
Conduct periodic compliance reviews and operational audits.
Ensure complete documentation and process governance.
Stakeholder Management
Partner with Business, Credit, Risk, Operations, Legal, and Finance teams.
Present regional performance updates to senior leadership.
Build strong relationships with external legal firms, repossession agencies,
and recovery partners.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or
a related field.
MBA/PGDM or equivalent postgraduate qualification is preferred.
Experience
12–18 years of experience in banking or financial services.
Minimum 5–7 years of leadership experience managing regional or multi-location
secured collections.
Strong experience handling secured lending portfolios such as Home Loans, LAP,
and Mortgage Finance.
Proven experience managing legal recoveries, collection agencies, and
high-value delinquent accounts.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of secured collections lifecycle.
Understanding of retail banking products and lending operations.
Expertise in collections analytics and portfolio management.
Knowledge of legal recovery frameworks applicable to secured lending.
Proficiency in MIS reporting and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI,
Tableau, SQL preferred).
Familiarity with collection management systems and CRM platforms.
