Senior Engineer - Estimation
Job Summary:
The Senior Engineer - Estimation plays a critical role in the preparation and
evaluation of estimation documents related to electrical switchboards and
panels. This position is vital for ensuring accurate project costing and
effective communication with clients and consultants, which directly impacts
project success and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:

Study and review inquiry documents to ascertain project requirements and
specifications.

Prepare detailed bills of materials and general arrangement drawings for
various types of switchboards, including PCC, MCC, PDB, DG SYN Panels, and
DBs.

Estimate costs for all electrical panels ensuring accuracy and compliance
with project standards.

Coordinate with clients and consultants to confirm technical specifications
and address inquiries.

Conduct component selection by cross-referencing with coordination charts
per project technical requirements.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IEC and IS standards, and the latest price
lists and costing trends of various switchgear manufacturers.

Facilitate team collaboration by demonstrating leadership skills in project
estimation processes.
Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 5-6 years of relevant
experience, or a Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 8-10 years of
experience in costing of HT/LT electrical switchboards/panels.

Proven experience in the estimation of LV & MV panels and independently
handling various types of HT/LT panels such as PCC, MCC, and PDBs.

Clear understanding of Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical diagrams,
technical specifications, and terminology related to electrical switchboards
and panels.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications for
documentation and presentations.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate
with team members and stakeholders.

Team player with demonstrated leadership capabilities and a strong
commitment to project success.

Awareness of the latest electrical standards and costing trends within the
industry.
Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced certification or training in electrical estimation or project
management.

Experience with specialized electrical design software will be an advantage.

Proficiency in English language will enhance communication effectiveness.
