Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Lead – Wind to oversee the
planning, execution, installation, testing, and commissioning of
electrical systems for utility-scale Wind Power Projects. The role is
responsible for ensuring timely and quality execution of all electrical
works at the project site, including wind turbine electrical installation,
internal and external power evacuation systems, substations, transmission
lines, and grid connectivity.
The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in managing
electrical execution activities, contractor coordination, safety
compliance, and commissioning of utility-scale wind projects while
ensuring adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and statutory
requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Project Execution

Lead and supervise all electrical construction activities for
utility-scale Wind Power Projects.

Plan and execute electrical installation works in line with project
schedules and engineering drawings.

Ensure timely completion of electrical works while maintaining quality
and safety standards.

Coordinate with civil, mechanical, commissioning, and turbine
installation teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Wind Turbine Electrical Installation
-
Supervise electrical installation activities related to Wind Turbine
Generators (WTGs), including:
- Tower electrical systems
- Nacelle electrical systems
- Cable routing and termination
- Earthing and lightning protection systems
- Auxiliary power systems

Ensure compliance with OEM installation procedures and specifications.
Power Evacuation & Grid Connectivity
- Oversee installation and commissioning of:
- Underground and overhead HT cable networks
- Collector systems
- Pooling substations
- Switchgear and protection systems
- Power transformers
- Transmission lines
- SCADA and communication systems

Coordinate with transmission utilities and DISCOMs for successful grid
synchronization.
Testing & Commissioning
- Lead electrical testing and commissioning activities.

Coordinate pre-commissioning inspections and punch point closures.

Ensure successful energization of substations and electrical equipment.
- Support turbine commissioning and synchronization activities.
- Review testing reports and commissioning documentation.
Contractor & Stakeholder Management

Manage EPC contractors, electrical subcontractors, and vendors at site.

Review contractor work progress and ensure compliance with contractual
requirements.

Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, HSE, and Project
Management teams.

Participate in project review meetings and provide progress updates.
Quality Assurance

Ensure execution complies with approved drawings, technical
specifications, and quality standards.
- Conduct inspections and monitor installation quality.

Resolve site technical issues in coordination with engineering teams.
- Ensure preparation of as-built documentation.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

Ensure strict adherence to HSE policies and statutory regulations.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.

Monitor implementation of electrical safety procedures, lockout/tagout
(LOTO), and permit-to-work systems.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all site activities.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Track project milestones and electrical work completion status.

Maintain records of inspections, testing, commissioning, and material
utilization.
- Support preparation of project handover documentation.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Master's Degree in Power Systems or Electrical Engineering (preferred).
Experience & Skills Requirements

12 – 18 years of experience in electrical execution of utility-scale
Wind Power Projects.

Hands-on experience in electrical installation, testing, and
commissioning of Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs).

Experience in HT/LT systems, substations, transmission lines, collector
systems, and power evacuation infrastructure.
-
Experience working with leading wind turbine OEMs and EPC contractors
will be preferred.
