Vice President / Director of Engineering

Job Summary:

As a Vice President / Director of Engineering, you will lead our engineering team in developing innovative solutions and driving the technological vision of our organization. Your leadership will be critical in scaling our operations and leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance our product offerings, ultimately contributing to our growth as a leading startup in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and inspire the engineering team to innovate and deliver high-quality software solutions in alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
• Design and implement robust AI-driven architecture that enhances product functionality and performance.
• Oversee all stages of project development, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining high standards of quality.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by mentoring team members and promoting best engineering practices.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product management and executive teams to define product roadmaps and priorities.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to engineering team members.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and maintain competitive advantage.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in engineering, with at least 2 years in a scaling startup environment.
• Currently or recently held a position at the SDE3+ level, with a strong technical background.
• Proven experience working extensively with artificial intelligence technologies for at least 2 years.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with a talent for building and inspiring effective engineering teams.
• Deep understanding of software development methodologies, and ability to drive projects from concept through delivery.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for mentoring the next generation of engineers.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a founding engineer role or similar position within a startup environment.
• Demonstrated success in scaling engineering teams and processes in a fast-paced startup.
• Familiarity with cloud computing infrastructure and big data technologies.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field is desirable.
