JOB DESCRIPTION: MANAGER-COMMERCIALS

Key Responsibilities

1. Inventory Control & Stock Governance

• Ensure accurate accounting and control of RM, WIP, and Finished Goods inventory
• Drive cycle counts, physical verification, and reconciliation processes
• Monitor inventory ageing (slow/non-moving/obsolete stock) and initiate corrective actions
• Ensure adherence to FIFO / FEFO and storage compliance norms
• Maintain zero tolerance for stock discrepancies and pilferage

2. Material Consumption & Standard Costing

• Track actual consumption vs standard BOM consumption
• Analyse material variance (usage, yield, process loss)
• Ensure discipline in issue, return, and booking of materials
• Validate and improve standard costing structures in coordination with finance

3. Scrap, Wastage & Yield Optimization

• Monitor scrap generation, rejection, and process losses across production lines
• Work with Production & Quality teams to drive yield improvement initiatives
• Drive continuous reduction in conversion losses and waste cost

4. Stores & Material Flow Control

• Oversee end-to-end stores operations (receipt, storage, issue, documentation)
• Ensure control over material movements, gate entries, and dispatches
• Prevent losses due to damage, expiry, mishandling, or leakage

5. Month-End Closure & Financial Controls

• Lead plant inventory closing and reconciliation
• Ensure accurate valuation of inventory and cost booking
• Support provisions for slow-moving / obsolete stock
• Maintain readiness for internal, statutory, and customer audits

6. MIS

• Inventory accuracy
• Scrap & wastage trends
• Yield performance
• Consumption variance
