Job Description – Business Development (Integrated Solutions – Furniture

Role Purpose
Position Merino as a specification-led, solution-focused brand among top
architects, interior designers, developers, government agencies, and
institutional clients. Drive early-stage design influence and ensure
Merino Integrated Solutions (Furniture + MRS) are specified at the
concept and tender stage. Convert specifications into revenue through
structured lead generation, client engagement, and project closing. Act
as the regional bridge between clients, design/NPD teams,
pricing/estimations, and execution teams to ensure seamless project
delivery. Strengthen Merino’s reputation as a design-led Indian
multinational offering integrated furniture and restroom solutions for
commercial, institutional, and large-format infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
A. Specification & Sales (60%)

Identify, engage, and nurture opportunities with architects, interior
designers, developers, and institutional clients.

Influence, prepare, and submit project specifications and ensure
Merino products are included in drawings, BOQs, tender documents, and
bid submissions.

Convert specifications into confirmed sales orders—across both
Furniture and MRS categories.
-
Create BOQs, layouts, proposals, and technical submissions in
coordination with regional design, NPD, and pricing teams.
-
Maintain accurate CRM entries, project pipeline tracking, and forecast
reporting.
-
Achieve region-wise specifications, order value, and defined
monthly/quarterly conversion targets.
B. Business Development & Market Activation (20%)
-
Build new relationships and expand Merino’s footprint in the AID
(Architects/Interior Designers) and institutional ecosystem.
-
Conduct Lunch & Learn sessions, presentations, design dialogues, and
product awareness workshops.
-
Regularly update influencer libraries with samples, catalogs, BIM
models, installation details, and technical collateral.
-
Collect competitor intelligence and propose inputs for new product
development, pricing, modular configurations, and sourcing strategies.
-
Work with fabricators, contractors, and approved installation partners
to ensure project execution readiness.
C. Client & Stakeholder Relationship Management (20%)

Act as a single point of contact for all strategic accounts under the
assigned territory.

Map decision-makers and influencers; Architects, PMCs, consultants,
facility heads, contractors, and procurement teams.

Ensure timely resolution of technical queries, quotations,
site-related coordination, and execution scheduling.

Drive client retention, repeat business, and participation in Merino
events, product launches, and knowledge sessions.

Qualification & Experience
Bachelor’s in Architecture / Interior Design / Civil Engineering /
Planning (MBA preferred).
3–6 years of experience in specification sales, project sales, business
development in furniture, building materials, restrooms, workspace or
interiors industry.
Core Skills & Competencies

Ability to read architectural drawings, furniture layouts, restroom
schematics, and BOQs.

Strong understanding of commercial workspace design, restroom systems,
modular furniture, and integrated fit-out solutions.

Exceptional communication, design persuasion, client relationship
handling, and negotiation ability.
