Job Summary
Digital Engineering Site Administrator is the site-level owner and steward
of digital engineering systems, responsible for ensuring effective
integration between operational technology (OT) and enterprise IT
platforms in an advanced engineering environment. It drives the
performance, security and scalability of engineering systems (PLM,
CAD/CAE, simulation, requirements/workflow tools), laboratory, enterprise
platforms (ERP/Teamcenter/SCADA, data & analytics), aligned to Molex’s
global technology direction.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Business Alignment
-
Align technology roadmaps with Technology Center engineering and
quality, to achieve throughput, quality, and cost targets.

Translate engineering needs actionable digital requirements, working
with corporate IT, automation teams, and vendors to deliver solutions
that improve reliability, visibility, and scalability.
Global Demand Intake Process
-
Ensure all site IT/OT requests are submitted through the global intake
workflow and meet intake standards.

Evaluate and prioritize requests based on strategic alignment,
architecture fit, cost/value, urgency, compliance, and resource impact.

Proactively engage center stakeholders (Engineering, Quality etc.) to
ensure standardized request submission and to protect project timelines.

Leverage global steering and prioritization forums to secure funding,
align priorities, and provide transparency on site demand and project
status.
New Product Introduction
Govern digital readiness for NPI, laboratory setup and audits requirement;
ensure product structures, specifications, work instructions, test
parameters, and quality plans are released in PLM and correctly propagated
to ERP/Teamcenter.
Digital Engineering Platforms
Own Technology Center deployment and support for engineering platforms
(ERP/Teamcenter/SCADA, data & analytics), including access control,
environment management/upgrade, enhancement, and vendor support.
Provide IT/OT support for Product Design and Medical Laboratory
environments by ensuring secure, compliant, and high availability
operations across laboratories, systems, platforms, and infrastructure.
IT/OT Infrastructure & Operations

Assure secure, reliable connectivity for automation, robotics, and
testing equipment.

Operate and optimize site IT/OT infrastructure including site networks,
on prem and cloud compute servers, identity & access systems, endpoints,
datacenter and plant floor OT devices (PLCs, HMIs, IIoT gateways,
historians).

Maintain current architecture diagrams, IP schemes, asset inventory,
runbooks and SOPs to enable fast recovery and consistent operations.

Implement and enforce secure remote access, segmentation between IT and
OT, and endpoint/hardening standards in partnership with corporate
IT/cybersecurity.

Lead capacity planning and lifecycle management: forecast resource
needs, plan hardware/software refreshes, coordinate procurement, and
manage warranties/licenses.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management
-
Protect intellectual property and supplier data by applying site
cybersecurity controls, secure configuration baselines, and
credential/certificate management.

Maintain, test and validate disaster recovery and business continuity
plans for critical digital assets; ensure backups and restore procedures
are current.
-
Act as the site liaison to Corporate Cybersecurity for vulnerability
remediation, incident response, and compliance audits.
Compliance, Audit & Business Continuity
-
Support site compliance for audit certification and related alignment
with global/division standards.

Coordinate audit readiness, evidence, and corrective actions with
Corporate IT, Cybersecurity, Quality, and Compliance teams.

Ensure business continuity, backup, and recovery readiness, and lead
rapid response for technology incidents or audit gaps.
Vendor & Financial Management
-
Manage vendor relationships for support, maintenance, licensing and
professional services; coordinate on site vendor activities to minimize
production impact.

Create and submit purchase requests (PRs) for generic IT requirements,
ensuring accurate scope, cost justification, and alignment with approved
budgets. Coordinate with the Purchasing/Procurement team to support
timely purchase order (PO) release.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in information technology,
Computer Science, Electrical/Automation/Industrial Engineering, or related
field.
8+ years of technology leadership supporting engineering and
manufacturing, with strong experience in digital engineering / engineering
systems (PLM/PDM, CAD/CAE, simulation, workflow).
Technical Skills
-
IT/OT infrastructure, industrial connectivity IoT / PLC, network
segmentation, and integration of engineering labs and automation
systems; understanding of on‑prem and hybrid virtualized compute (VM)
environments, capacity planning, high availability, backup/restore, and
lifecycle management.

Familiarity with enterprise domain services (Active Directory concepts),
DHCP, DNS, and IP addressing standards supporting stable, scalable, and
secure engineering and OT environments.
-
Familiarity with identity and access controls, cybersecurity best
practices supporting engineering and lab environments in alignment with
corporate cybersecurity teams.

Familiarity with Engineering platforms: PLM/PDM, CAD administration,
CAE/simulation environments, requirements/workflow tools; strong
understanding of engineering change, configuration management, and
product structures (parts/BOMs).

Familiarity with Integration & data: PLM–ERP–MES integration concepts,
APIs/middleware, data modeling/master data, reporting/BI; familiarity
with manufacturing execution/automation context (MES/SCADA,
robotics/vision/AOI/metrology) to enable engineering-to-shopfloor
traceability.
