Process Safety Manager
Job Summary:
The Process Safety Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and
compliance of chemical operations within our organization. This position is
integral to identifying potential hazards, developing risk management
strategies, and fostering a culture of safety to protect our employees,
assets, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development and implementation of process safety management (PSM)
programs in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Conduct thorough hazard analyses and risk assessments to identify potential
process safety risks and develop strategies for mitigation.

Facilitate and oversee safety audits, investigations, and inspections to
ensure continuous improvement in safety practices and compliance.

Provide training and mentorship to employees on process safety principles,
emergency response procedures, and risk management practices.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement safe
operating procedures and standards.

Monitor and analyze incident reports, trends, and safety metrics to enhance
the overall safety performance of the organization.

Stay abreast of industry advancements and regulatory updates, ensuring the
organization remains compliant and at the forefront of safety practices.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related
field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in process safety management within the
chemical industry.

Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements such as OSHA, EPA, and NFPA
standards related to process safety.

Proven ability to conduct thorough hazard analyses, process hazard
assessments (PHA), and root cause investigations.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with
diverse teams and stakeholders.

Certification in process safety or relevant safety management programs
(e.g., CSP, CIH) is highly desirable.

Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a strong commitment to fostering a
safety-first culture.
Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety Management, or a related
discipline.

Experience with Safety Management Systems (SMS) and leading regulatory
compliance initiatives.

Proficiency in utilizing process safety software and tools for data analysis
and reporting.

Experience in managing cross-disciplinary projects with a focus on safety
and risk management.

Strong background in emergency response planning and safety training program
development.
