The
Director,
Marketing Business Operations, Growth & Enablement
is a senior marketing business leader responsible for driving business
operational excellence, sustainable growth, and enablement across Optum
Insight (OI) and Optum Financial (OF) Marketing in support of enterprise
and business priorities. This role
leads and develops a high‑performing team responsible for running the
marketing transformation strategy and day‑to‑day business operations
, while also shaping and executing a forward‑looking, three‑year marketing
maturity roadmap aligned to enterprise marketing priorities,
cross-BU/enterprise capabilities, and enterprise/AI platforms.
The Director partners closely with executive marketing leadership, BU
stakeholders, finance, technology, shared services, sales, and global
delivery teams to ensure marketing investments, platforms, processes, and
talent are aligned to growth objectives and delivering measurable business
value. This is a highly outcome‑oriented leadership role that blends
people leadership, strategic planning, run‑the‑business ownership,
portfolio and performance management, MarTech enablement, and workforce
and financial rigor
to drive critical business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Planning & Marketing Maturity Roadmap
-
Lead long-range business planning for OI and OF marketing
transformation, including ownership and execution of a
3‑year marketing maturity and capability roadmap
.

Translate enterprise and BU growth objectives into clear marketing
operating priorities, targets, investments, and sequencing.
-
Partner with marketing and business executives to define success
measures, milestones, and value realization.
Run-the-Business & Performance Management
-
Own day-to-day marketing business operations across OI and OF, ensuring
operational health, delivery discipline, and performance transparency.

Establish and manage core operational rhythms including planning,
prioritization, reporting, risk management, and escalation.
-
Drive KPI definition, performance measurement, and corrective action to
ensure outcomes align with growth and value targets.
BU Portfolio & Growth Leadership
-
Develop and lead a team of
Business Operations and Growth Leads
aligned to priority businesses and portfolios aligned to Executive
Marketing leaders.
-
Ensure tight alignment to BU priorities, program execution, investment
forecasting, stakeholder engagement, and issue resolution.
-
Act as a trusted advisor to BU marketing and business leaders, providing
clarity on roadmap progress, trade-offs, and impact.
Channel Integration & Expansion
-
Drive integration and optimization of key marketing channels, including
optum.com, digital experiences, and strategic platform partnerships
across Marketing and UHG.

Ensure channels are supported by scalable platforms, workflows, and
governance models that enable growth and consistency.
Marketing Process, Workflow & Governance
-
Define and embed enterprise marketing operating frameworks, playbooks,
SOPs, and governance models aligned to internal, enterprise marketing
and UHG processes.

Lead workflow automation (AI), optimization, and platform integrations
to reduce friction, improve speed‑to‑market, and increase transparency.

Oversee X-BU/Organizational platform/tooling/process migrations and
standardization across teams and geographies.
MarTech Enablement & Platform Evolution

Own marketing technology enablement and transformation, including
Experience Evolution and capability maturity (cross-platform).
-
Provide strategic business leadership for platforms and tools such as
Workfront, Smartsheet, DAM/content libraries
, and related MarTech ecosystem capabilities.
-
Partner with technology, data, and marketing leaders to evolve platforms
in support of AI LRP, operating scale, compliance, and performance.
Budget & Financial Management
-
Lead marketing P&L operating model, including annual and long-range
planning, investment prioritization, and financial governance.
-
Lead cost‑benefit analyses (CBAs), business cases, invoice management,
and vendor oversight.
-
Ensure financial discipline, transparency, and alignment to value
realization.
Workforce Management & Globalization
-
Build and optimize global workforce, operations and delivery model in
support of globalization targets, directly contributing to cost
optimization, global scalability, and time-to-market.

Lead team on workforce planning, forecasting, and tracking across
onshore and global delivery teams.

Establish and enforce requisition governance aligned to strategic
priorities and productivity targets.
Leadership & Talent Development
-
Build and lead high-performing team (onshore and global) of business
operations, growth and enablement leaders with a strong culture of
accountability and continuous improvement.

Coach teams to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
-
Promote data‑driven decision-making, operational rigor, and outcome
accountability.
Qualifications
Required
-
15+ years of experience in business operations, marketing operations,
program or portfolio management, or general management roles.
-
Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in
large, matrixed organizations.
-
Strong experience in performance management, operating models, data
analysis, and financial governance.
-
Proven ability to translate strategy into executable plans with
measurable outcomes.
-
Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and executive‑level
presence.
Preferred
-
Experience across both B2B and B2C product and marketing environments.
-
Strong working knowledge of MarTech ecosystems, including experience
management, workflow, DAM, and analytics platforms.

Experience with Adobe ecosystem, Salesforce, and enterprise work
management tools.

Background in global delivery and workforce optimization models.
