Programme Director (Land Use)

Job Summary:

The Programme Director (Land Use) at Prosperiti will play a pivotal role in enhancing the efficient use of productive land in India by driving regulatory reforms. This leadership position is essential in translating reform ideas into actionable policies, unlocking land potential, and improving economic outcomes across various states.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conceptualize, produce, and promote high-quality research products combining data analysis and legal insights.
• Lead engagement with government partners to facilitate reforms in land use regulations, building trust and effective communication.
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with industry bodies and other stakeholders to support reform initiatives.
• Oversee project management activities, including planning, budgeting, and tracking outcomes for multiple state engagements.
• Manage and coach a team of analysts, fostering their professional development and performance enhancement.
• Contribute to the production of policy analyses, legislative drafting, and administrative support to ensure efficient project execution.
• Communicate research findings effectively through various platforms to establish thought leadership in land regulations.

Requirements:

• Master’s or PhD in Economics, Law, Urban Planning, Political Science, Public Policy, or related fields.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in urban or economic policy, preferably in a top-tier think tank, consulting firm, or government body.
• Demonstrated experience in government engagement, building high-trust relationships, and managing complex files.
• Excellent analytical, writing, negotiation, and team management skills.
• Strong knowledge of public administration, law, and public economics within the Indian context.
• Proven track record in publishing op-eds, papers, reports, and blogs.
• Avid reader with attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in second-in-command roles or as an early practice lead.
• Depth of knowledge in liberal philosophy and economic freedom concepts.
• Strong background in managing multi-state projects with diverse objectives.
• Proven ability to conduct high-quality workshops and consultations in collaboration with stakeholders.
