About the Role
Protein Chef is a fast-growing D2C food brand scaling aggressively across
Quick Commerce platforms and subscription channels. As we grow, our people
are our biggest lever — and we need an HRBP who is as passionate about
building a great culture as they are about HR operations.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role that sits at the heart of the
business. You will be the go-to HR partner for 4–5 functions, driving
performance culture, employee engagement, and smooth HR operations — all
while working closely with the Head HR and (Founder & CEO) on building the
people backbone of a high-growth company.
You will be the first HRBP hire at Protein Chef — which means you will
help shape how HR is experienced by every employee in the company.
Key Responsibilities
PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT & CULTURE
-
Partner with managers to ensure KRAs are set, tracked, and lived — not
just filed in Keka.
-
Drive quarterly KRA cycles (AMJ closure, JAS setting) in coordination
with the Head HR.
-
Track KRA completion rates across all functions; flag gaps and delays to
leadership.
-
Build a high-performance culture where feedback is continuous, not just
annual.
-
Coach managers on how to have effective performance conversations.
EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT & CULTURE BUILDING
-
Own the company's employee engagement calendar — pulse surveys,
recognition programs, team activities, and town halls.
-
Establish and track the eNPS (Employee Net Promoter Score) baseline for
Protein Chef.
-
Design and roll out the Protein Chef people culture charter — values,
behaviours, and ways of working.
-
Lead internal communication around culture, company milestones, and
people initiatives.
-
Be the first point of contact for employee relations — handle queries,
concerns, and conflict resolution with empathy and speed.
ONBOARDING & OFFBOARDING
-
Own the full onboarding journey for every new joiner — digital policy
walkthrough, company induction, org structure, asset handover, and
30-60-90 day check-ins via Keka.
-
Ensure every joiner has a structured Day 1 experience — nothing manual,
nothing falling through the cracks.
-
Manage exit processes — conduct exit interviews, identify attrition
trends, and share insights with the Head HR.
HR AUTOMATION & REPORTING
-
Maintain and improve Keka workflows — automated reminders, onboarding
checklists, KRA tracking, and leave management.
-
Prepare monthly HR dashboards: headcount, open roles, attrition,
engagement scores, payroll cost.
-
Support the Head HR in building AI-assisted hiring workflows and
reducing manual HR effort.
Who We Are Looking For
-
2–3 years of experience as an HRBP or HR Generalist, ideally in a D2C,
FMCG, food, or startup environment.
-
Demonstrated experience in performance management, employee engagement,
and Culture building — not just one of the three.
-
Hands-on with an HRIS tool (Keka preferred, or any equivalent — Zoho
People, greytHR, Darwinbox).
-
Strong interpersonal skills — people trust you, open up to you, and feel
heard when they talk to you.
-
Organised and process-oriented — you do not let things slip, and you
close loops without being chased.
-
Comfortable working in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment where
playbooks are being built, not followed.
-
Strong written communication in English — you can write a policy update,
an engagement post, and a difficult email, all with equal clarity.
-
Exposure to quick-commerce / food / high-growth consumer brand
environments is a strong plus.
Traits We Hire For
-
Ownership first — you treat problems as yours, not someone else's to
escalate.
-
People-first instinct — you genuinely care about employee experience,
not just compliance checkboxes.
-
High energy and positivity — you bring good energy to the floor, and
people notice.
-
Discretion — you handle sensitive information with maturity and
confidentiality.
-
Curiosity — you want to understand the business, not just the HR
function.
-
Builder's mindset — you are excited about building systems and processes
from scratch, not just maintaining what exists.
What You Will Own at Protein Chef
This is not a support role. You will have a clear charter from Day 1:
-
Performance culture across all functions — KRAs are lived, tracked, and
closed on time.
-
Employee engagement — eNPS baseline set; recognition program live; first
town hall hosted by Sep.
- Full onboarding journey — zero manual onboarding from Aug 1.
-
LinkedIn employer branding — Protein Chef's voice as a great place to
work.
- HR dashboard — shared with leadership every 1st of the month.
About Protein Chef & Lo Foods

country.
Protein Chef is from the house of Lo Foods, India's largest functional
