Head of Fab Equipment Sourcing

 

Purpose

Lead the sourcing, commercial, and supplier management strategy for semiconductor fab equipment across major manufacturing process areas. The role will be responsible for securing critical equipment capacity, driving supplier partnerships, and supporting fab build, expansion, and technology roadmap objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
• Lead commercial negotiations with major equipment suppliers including ASML, Applied Materials, Tokyo Electron, Lam Research, KLA, and other strategic OEMs.
• Manage supplier relationships, contract negotiations, capacity reservation agreements, service agreements, and long-term support arrangements.
• Drive procurement planning for fab construction, capacity expansion, technology node migrations, and manufacturing ramp-ups.
• Partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities, Finance, and Program Management teams to align sourcing plans with business objectives.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain, capacity, and technology risks across key equipment categories.
• Establish category strategies and governance across major fab functional areas.

 

Preferred Functional Expertise

 

Experience leading sourcing or category management for one or more of the following fab equipment domains:

• Lithography
• Thin Films (PVD, CVD, ALD, Epitaxy)
• Etch & Cleans
• Metrology & Inspection
• Diffusion & Implant
• CMP
• Advanced Packaging Equipment

 

Preferred Background

 

• 15+ years of semiconductor sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or operations experience.
• Proven track record supporting greenfield fabs, fab expansions, or large manufacturing transformation programs.
• Experience managing equipment procurement programs valued at $1B+.
• Strong executive relationships across the semiconductor equipment ecosystem.
