Operations Manager – Railway Wagon Maintenance (Cameroon)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day railway wagon maintenance and operational activities in Cameroon. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient maintenance, deployment, and availability of freight wagons while coordinating with internal teams and customers to support safe and uninterrupted rail logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily wagon maintenance and site operations.
• Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance is completed as per schedule.
• Monitor wagon availability, maintenance turnaround time, and operational performance.
• Coordinate with customer and railway operations teams for seamless execution.
• Plan manpower deployment and supervise technicians, contractors, and support staff.
• Coordinate with the India team for spare parts, consumables, and technical support.
• Maintain inventory and support cost-control initiatives.
• Prepare operational, maintenance, and project progress reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and statutory regulations.
• Identify operational risks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive customer satisfaction through efficient operational execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
• 10–12 years of experience in railway wagon maintenance, rolling stock, rail logistics, or heavy engineering operations.
• Strong experience in maintenance planning, site operations, manpower management, and contractor coordination.
