Reporting To: Senior Management / Leadership Team
Compensation: Approx. ₹50 LPA (Open for negotiation for exceptional candidates)
Experience Required: 12–15 Years
Preferred Age Bracket: 35–40 Years

About the Role

The Company is seeking a dynamic and business-oriented legal professional for the role of Head of Legal (VP / Sr. VP) . The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in corporate and commercial laws with a strategic mindset to support business growth, partnerships, and organizational governance.

This role requires a seasoned corporate lawyer with strong contract negotiation capabilities, strong understanding of intellectual property rights matters, and prior experience preferably within the IT / technology ecosystem. The incumbent will lead the legal function while closely partnering with leadership teams on high-value strategic transactions, large partnership agreements and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the organization’s legal function along with a team of 2 lawyers.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize complex commercial agreements and high-value partnership contracts.
• Provide strategic legal guidance on corporate laws, commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, and business structuring.
• Ensure legal and regulatory compliance across business operations.
• Handle matters related to data protection and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), including trademarks, licensing, technology agreements, and protection of organizational assets.
• Advise management on legal risks, mitigation strategies, and governance frameworks.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support business expansion, strategic alliances, and partnerships.
• Oversee external legal counsel wherever required.
• Develop and strengthen internal legal processes, policies, and documentation standards.
• Support senior leadership in decision-making from a legal and commercial risk perspective.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Qualified Lawyer with strong academic credentials from a reputed institution.
• 12–15 years of relevant experience in corporate/commercial legal roles.
• Strong understanding of:
  • Corporate & Commercial Laws
  • Contract Management & Negotiation
  • Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Data Protection matters
  • Technology / IT-related legal frameworks
  • Corporate Governance & Compliance
• Prior experience in the IT / Technology industry will be highly preferred.
• Proven ability to negotiate and close high-value commercial and partnership contracts.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and business partnering skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
