Legal AI Agent Builder

Role Overview

As our Legal AI Agent Builder, you will be the lead architect for our "agentic" legal operations stack. Your goal is to move beyond simple document automation toward autonomous systems that reason through contracts, legal documents, obligations, negotiations, and compliance workflows while maintaining strict legal governance and auditability. This is a "Builder" role — part Engineer, part Legal Operations Strategist, part AI Workflow Architect.

You will design and deploy intelligent AI agents that integrate deeply with Microsoft Word, DocuSign CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management), and DocuSign IAM (Intelligent Agreement Management) to automate contract review, obligation tracking, redlining, legal intake, compliance monitoring, and agreement lifecycle management. This is a remote role with the option to work anywhere in NA.

Core Responsibilities

• Intelligent Contract Analysis & Risk Identification Deploy AI agents that automatically review contracts, identify legal risks, extract key clauses, detect deviations from approved language, and flag non-standard terms requiring legal review.
• Autonomous Contract Lifecycle Management Build agents that independently manage contract workflows including drafting, clause recommendations, redlining support, approval routing, negotiation assistance, renewal monitoring, and obligation tracking.
• Dynamic Legal Intake & Request Management Design AI agents that can understand business requests, classify legal matters, gather required information, recommend appropriate templates, and route requests to the correct legal stakeholders without manual intervention.
• Contract Intelligence & Obligation Monitoring Develop agents that continuously monitor executed agreements for:
  • renewal dates,
  • termination rights,
  • notice periods,
  • payment obligations,
  • compliance commitments,
  • regulatory requirements,
  • and contractual milestones.
• Compliance & Governance Automation Build AI systems that compare contracts against approved playbooks, internal policies, regulatory requirements, and risk frameworks to ensure compliance and consistency.
• Performance & Guardrails Establish human-in-the-loop protocols, legal review checkpoints, evaluation frameworks, and governance controls to ensure AI-generated outputs remain legally defensible, auditable, and compliant.
• System Orchestration Connect AI agents to our legal technology ecosystem — including Microsoft Word, DocuSign CLM, DocuSign IAM, document repositories, internal knowledge bases, CRM systems, and enterprise applications — ensuring seamless data flow and automated write-backs.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience 2 – 5 years in:

• Legal Operations
• Contract Management
• Legal Technology
• CLM Administration
• Enterprise Workflow Automation
• AI Workflow Engineering

Experience supporting enterprise legal teams is highly preferred.

Legal Technology Expertise Hands-on experience with:

• DocuSign CLM (Required)
