We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Inspector with a strong background in
inspection of machined parts, fabricated components, and assembled subsystems.
The role involves verifying product quality at various stages of manufacturing
and assembly, ensuring compliance with drawings, standards, and customer
requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform in-process and final inspections of machined and fabricated parts,
weldments, and subsystem assemblies.
Interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles for dimensional
checks using precision instruments.
Inspect features such as surface finish, flatness, hole alignment,
concentricity, runout, and thread parameters.
Verify welding quality, material conformance, and structural integrity of
fabricated components.
Check assembly fitment, alignment, movement clearances, and fastener torques
in subsystems.
Ensure that non-conforming items are identified, documented, and segregated.
Generate inspection reports, NCRs, and support root cause analysis and
corrective actions.
Work closely with production and design teams for real-time feedback and
resolution of quality issues.
Maintain inspection tools, calibration records, and quality documentation.
Ensure adherence to ISO standards, safety norms, and company quality
policies.
Qualifications:
Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Degree with min. 5 years and Diploma with 7+ years of overall experience.
3 – 6 years of hands-on experience in inspection of machined, fabricated,
and assembled mechanical parts.
Strong understanding of GD&T, surface finish specifications, welding
standards, and assembly techniques.
Proficient in using inspection instruments like micrometers, vernier
calipers, height gauges, surface testers, and bore gauges.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing
documentation.
NDT Level I/II certification is a plus – A SNT-VPT/MPT/UT.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with CMM (manual or CNC) and digital inspection tools.
Basic knowledge of NDT, welding symbols, and fabrication standards (ASME,
AWS, IS).
Exposure to ERP/QMS systems for inspection tracking and reporting.
Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma principles is a plus.
