Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Architecture, Engineering, and Assurance, the
Digital Manager will be vital to the success of the architecture,
engineering, and assurance pillar. He/She will be a member of the
leadership team, supporting the creation and leading a best of breed
assurance capability able to support Projects, Change and 3rd Line Support
across all systems and platforms including integration to COTS, Legacy and
Vendor Systems across entire Waystone group.
The Digital Manager will be responsible for establishing an effective
local operating mode, developing appropriate leadership layers, and
creating an environment where technical staff can focus on their core
disciplines. Working collaboratively with global leadership, the role
ensures that local execution aligns with global standards, practices, and
strategic priorities, through people leadership, capability development,
workforce planning, and structured operational governance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead, structure, and mature a cross-functional team of developers,
testers, and emerging disciplines, ensuring clear role expectations,
effective leadership layers, and consistent standards of performance,
engagement, and delivery.

Establish and run a robust recruitment and on-boarding process that
enables the team to scale efficiently and integrate new hires and new
roles effectively into the existing operating model.

Ensure all team members at all times are skilled, equipped, and
supported with the right tools, training, and opportunities to deliver
high-quality outcomes while maintaining focus on their technical
disciplines.

Evaluate and plan for the introduction of new technologies, initially
assessing whether current team capabilities can adapt before recruiting
externally, ensuring alignment with globally defined technical
direction.

Promote internal flexibility and reduce over-specialization by
encouraging knowledge sharing, cross-training, and adaptable team
structures, while developing future leadership capability.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team members to
regularly reflect, adapt, and enhance both technical practices and
delivery outcomes.

Collaborate closely with global development and test managers to ensure
optimal allocation and utilization of team resources across change
initiatives, projects, and BAU work.

Support the implementation of clearly defined and evolving global
development and testing standards, tooling, and practices in alignment
with wider architectural and governance expectations.

Maintain visibility of team performance and delivery quality, using
metrics to drive improvement and ensure readiness to meet future demand.

Build strong working relationships with architecture, engineering,
assurance, and platform teams to ensure execution aligns with global
strategic direction and avoids unnecessary complexity or delay.

Act as a key liaison between the Mumbai-based team and UK-based
leadership, supporting communication, reporting, and cross-functional
alignment, and ensuring effective day-to-day operational leadership.

Experience:

Proven experience leading blended technology teams in a complex,
multi-platform or distributed environment.

Background in scaling team capability through recruitment, on-boarding,
mentoring, and professional development.

Experience introducing and supporting the adoption of new tools,
practices, and technologies in alignment with central technical
leadership.

Familiarity with supporting resource planning, performance tracking, and
capacity optimization in collaboration with globally distributed
delivery functions.

Experience working within regulated environments and supporting
adherence to architectural, assurance, and governance standards.

Experience working in a matrixed or dotted-line reporting structure,
supporting multiple functional leaders and global direction.
Skills:

Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to
build trust and drive team performance.

Competent understanding of modern development and testing practices,
including CI/CD, automation, and cloud-native principles.

Skilled in planning, prioritizing, and balancing local team delivery
with centrally defined strategies.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of operating
across technical and business domains and multiple geographies.

Proficient in using metrics to drive effectiveness, efficiency, and
continuous improvement.

Analytical and data-driven approach to team performance, resource
planning, organizational structure, and decision-making.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics,
Statistics, Business, or equivalent experience.
