Job Summary/ Job Opportunity:
This is an excellent opportunity for an Admitted Lines Underwriting Analyst to
deliver insurers with product
development support and contribute to our insurance ecosystem. The successful
candidate will secure an

As an Admitted Lines Underwriting Analyst, you will specialize in enabling the
rating process of various
admitted insurance products with extensive analysis of rates, rules, forms and
more, in the system. You will
assist in the advancement of the industry with leading analytical skills and
individual well-roundedness.

Key Objectives and Major Responsibilities:
1. The purpose of this role is to assist underwriters in executing the rating
process for various
admitted insurance products – keeping in mind the rating rules and formulas
for a product.
2. The individual will play an essential role in the success of these projects
from the prospect of our
insurance domain.
3. Major responsibilities include providing expert support by reviewing
insurance application from
risk tolerance standpoint and accurately validating rating worksheets, policy
outputs, forms, and
endorsements.
4. Aggregating the risks of different lines of business with the help of
prescribed tools and
techniques.
5. Ability and knack for extensive reading and research on ISO & other
insurance manuals, state
rules and regulations to correctly rate insurance product risks on the Duck
creek platform within
regulatory purview of various bureaus.
6. Protecting the company’s book of business from risks and issuing insurance
policies at a premium
that is commensurate with the exposure presented by risk.
7. Designing numerous modules consisting of product test scripts on Duck
Creek, conduct the
relevant testing and ensure proactive reporting of any observed abnormalities.
8. Maintaining adherence to the established timelines as well as accuracy and
productivity targets.
9. Contributing to the organizational values by actively engaging in the
larger learning and
development process.
10. Driving concise, structured, and effective communication with clients,
peers, and other
stakeholders.
Key Capabilities and Competencies Knowledge
1. Basic insurance knowledge of various lines of businesses.
2. Fundamental understanding of underwriting and rating factors for various
risks.
3. Good with mathematical calculations.
4. Awareness of underwriting criteria for a product or line of business.
5. A substantial understanding of the trigger points and conditions applicable
across various forms
and endorsements (preferred).
6. Recognizes various concepts, jargons, products employed in underwriting and
the insurance
industry.
Skills
1. Proficient with MS Office.
2. Excellent time management skills needed as this role involves super tight
delivery deadlines.
3. Good logic building skills to draw logical insights.
4. Professional writing, networking, and communication style with the ability
to formulate emails, presentations, and documents.
5. Innate capacity to effectively read, comprehend, and interpret detailed
research and reading material.
6. Competent to work in an active and diverse environment.
7. Ability to identify, analyze and enhance any existing business processes.
Qualification and Experience
1. Recognized with a UG or PG degree in mathematics, economics, or a related
field.
2. Must hold 1-2 years of relevant experience in the insurance domain.
Desirable
1. Recognizable domain knowledge wherein the individual has awareness of
insurance concepts,
products, jargons within the basic and regulatory frameworks.
2. Certifications or progression towards CPCU, CII, AU will be highly
desirable.
